Dave Hulinsky

GIPS Board of Education Candidate: Ward B

Chaperone is endorsing current Grand Island Public Schools Board of Education member Dave Hulinsky for the upcoming election. Dave is running in GIPS Ward B.

Dave is a Grand Island native, having attended GIPS before going on to the University of Wyoming and Chadron State College to earn a bachelor’s degree in education. He is currently the Sales/Marketing Manager at COMPLETE weddings + events, where he leads the state’s largest wedding entertainment and media company. Dave is married to his wife of 22 years, Gwen, who is currently an elementary teacher at GIPS. Together, they have two children.

“I’m passionate about education because I want to help prepare the future of our community and, ultimately, our world,” Dave says. “It’s crucial to help all children reach their potential, and it’s especially important to fight for our teachers. As a member of the GIPS Board of Education, I will make sure they have a voice and representation on the Board.”

Dave’s Platform

Dave's experience as a former educator, a father of former GIPS students, and a supportive husband to a current GIPS teacher gives him a nuanced understanding of the challenges facing teachers and the effects of the existing curriculum on our children. His active involvement on the GIPS Board of Education underscores his dedication to the school community.

Dave presents a comprehensive and unique platform in his pursuit of improving the GIPS educational system. His philosophy that "it takes a village to raise and educate" guides his collaborative approach to working with teachers and staff across all schools in the area. He possesses a keen awareness of often-overlooked issues and brings them to light with energy and foresight. Dave's interest in every child's educational journey is balanced by his practical approach to supporting hard-working educators, ensuring they can teach with less bureaucracy and more fulfillment in their roles.

Having worked in the classroom himself, Dave understands the pressing issues facing our school system and the impact they have on students and teachers alike. His efforts have already moved the needle towards positive change, but his work is not yet finished. It is crucial to re-elect Dave to the Board of Education so he can continue serving as a steadfast ally to our community, teachers, and students. His ongoing dedication will help secure a brighter future for all within the GIPS system.
